Scores of urban youth will leave New York City this summer to experience two uplifting weeks at Steve’s Camp at Horizon Farms in Livingston Manor, beneficiaries of a successful Sunday fundraiser at the home of Ron and Rosalyn Binday, owners of Advocate Brokerage Corp., along with son Glenn Binday and daughter Denise Koslowsky.

We are thrilled with the community’s support of Steve’s Camp,” said Ron Binday, a member of the Steve’s Camp Board of Directors. “These deserving children will have their lives changed thanks to the generosity of local people who opened their hearts to helping out.”

In attendance was Congressman Eliot Engel, who noted how important it is to help children reach their potential.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand sent a letter thanking everyone: “I am grateful for organizations like Steve’s Camp at Horizon Farms that educate and create awareness and improve the quality of life for those in their community.”

The donations will help renovate and expand facilities at Steve’s Camp, and support “camperships” that allow each child to attend a two-week session at no charge.

Focusing on leadership development, environmental stewardship, and health and wellness, Steve’s Camp will host 120 children this year from small and charter high schools in New York City that are using education to lift students out of poverty.

Thank you to all who have helped Advocate Brokerage support Steve’s camp. If you wish to donate to this extraordinary program, please visit stevescamp.org.
