#SCARSDALE – Advocate Brokerage Corp. joined such high-profile Westchester businesses as Lillian Vernon and PepsiCo Inc. in being named to the Inaugural Group of the Westchester County Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame.
“These are businesses that can really be shown as an example to others,” Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the Chamber, told the Journal News.
Advocate Brokerage was founded by Rosalyn Binday of Scarsdale, who was later joined in the business by her husband, Ron. Ronald Lambert, vice-president and branch manager of HSBC in Scarsdale, said he nominated the Binday family for the award because he thought they incorporated the idea of community into the business.
“It’s a family business, but it’s more than that,” he said. “If you’ve ever seen their advertising, they typically present a picture of their staff as well as themselves, like their employees are members of their extended family. It’s a nice touch.”
